About this tool

Compute LTV, LTV:CAC, CAC payback, MRR, ARR, and a 12-month MRR projection — the numbers that decide if your SaaS works.

Growth without unit economics is a leaky bucket with better marketing. Six inputs — price, gross margin, monthly churn, CAC, subscriber count, and net growth — drive the whole model: lifetime value, the LTV:CAC ratio with an honest health verdict, CAC payback in months, and the MRR/ARR/ARPU snapshot you will be asked for at every board meeting.

The projection strip compounds your net growth rate over twelve months and draws it as twelve plain bars, so the difference between 3% and 6% monthly growth stops being abstract. The formulas are standard and stated openly: LTV = price × margin ÷ churn, payback = CAC ÷ monthly gross profit per subscriber. No hockey sticks, no dark arts.

Everything computes locally in your browser. Your pricing and churn numbers are nobody’s business but yours — which is exactly why this tool makes no network calls at all.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good LTV:CAC ratio?

The convention: 3:1 or better is healthy — you earn back three times what a customer costs to acquire. Between 1 and 3 is watch territory; below 1 you are paying more for customers than they ever return, which no volume of growth fixes. The calculator color-codes all three zones live.

How is LTV calculated here?

LTV = (price × gross margin) ÷ monthly churn. With a $50 plan at 80% margin and 3% monthly churn, a customer is worth about $1,333 in gross profit — 50 × 0.8 ÷ 0.03. Margin matters: revenue you never keep is not lifetime value.

What counts as CAC payback?

CAC payback = CAC ÷ gross profit per subscriber per month. A $300 CAC against $40 of monthly gross profit pays back in 7.5 months. Under 12 months is generally considered healthy; over 24 and cash flow becomes the strategy.

Does the projection account for churn?

Yes — enter your net monthly growth (new subscribers minus churned, as a percentage of the current base) and the strip compounds that rate across twelve months. Using net growth keeps the model honest about what churn quietly subtracts.
